Hello,
I’m Julien Chardon, a French film editor, based in Paris.
Recently, I have edited the feature films Paul and Paulette Take a Bath awarded in Venice (SIC 2024) and Kyma (2026) which was selected in Brussels International Fanstatic Film Festival and which is distributed by Sony France. I also edited two nice short movies for Insolence productions Le Bézoard and Lui.
I am also one of the lead organisers and programmers for the Korean Film Festival in Paris (FFCP). It is one of the most renowned, and well-attended film festivals in Paris.

My Editing Philosophy
Whilst I have a particular fondness for genre film, I love building stories of sorts. Anything that takes me on a journey; through emotions, through time, around the wide, wonderful world.
I cut images, shape emotions and explore pace, to seek the true core of the story and the director’s vision.
From TV programs to cinema, advertisement, art and music videos I have honed my skills thanks to the directors, journalists and artists I worked with for the last twenty years.

Fiction
Feature films and a bunch of short movies raise and born from intense and trustworthy collaborations.
Documentary
Editing is also creating windows onto our world. We cut pieces out of reality, and structure them to open minds.
Reportage & Entertainment
My first steps as an editor were with Magic, and Eco-mag, delivering crystal-clear messages, fast. Making editing an invisible trick that brings out the best in the material.
Art Films
Works of art shown in museums. Another side of editing that question both meaning and rhythm in radical different ways.
A kind of blast for me.
